Everything is different, again. I'm backed up in letters, but some of that is not having a POBox yet. We can't afford one right now. I hate being broke. I admit, I sit in the shower far longer then I should to cry about it lately. Ugh.

If you knew today was your last day on Earth, how would you spend it, and why?

I try, every day, to consider this very question...if there was no tomorrow, what would I want to have to remember today by. I surround myself with people who truly appreciate me, help others as much as possible, and, at least lately, try to avoid drama at all costs. There will be days in a row where I don't answer my phone, for pretty much everyone. For some, this is bothersome, and they think it has to do with unhealthy habits, but, really, it has to do with needing space, needing to be able to shut off the past, for a moment, and then to come back to it on my own terms.

If today really was it, though, I'd hug Luna, take a walk on the edge of the ocean, call a few friends and laugh, eat lobster alfredo sauce and carrot cake, and maybe some of grandma's christmas apple pie filling. I'd take a minute to acknowledge the things I didn't accomplish in time, because if that moment was not taken, they'd ruin my day haunting me. I'd probably still smoke too many cigarettes, but that's ok. And I'd go to New York. I'd walk the Brooklyn Bridge and spend an hour midafternoon in Washington Square Park before going to The Strand to wander for a few hours. What I'm most certain of, though, is that I would make sure at the end of it, I was with someone who truly loves me, someone who will miss me tomorrow, when I am not here, and I will let them know I feel the same.

  • Чт, 15:56: It's the kind of morning where you keep resetting your alarm and then realize, almost too late, that there were reasons it was set so early.
  • Чт, 20:24: @VickiDiMeglio Went through my list of followers and was...shocked to see you on it. How are you?

This is so damn sad. On January 1st, I posted my goals for 2011. Here they are again:

Goals for 2011:

1. Read 50 books, titles yet to be determined, but at least 25 non-fiction, and at least 10 “banned” books.
2. Apply to CCSU by February 15, 2011 for fall semester.
3. Write for at least 10 minutes a day, no exception.
4. Start an at least monthly, if not weekly, writing group.
5. Knit one hat a month for charity.
6. Knit one to two adult scarves a month.
7. Complete one to two test knits a month.
8. Fit into Miriam’s high school jeans (size 14) by my birthday, August 10. As of January 1, 2011, currently at a size 19.
9. Go to Connecti-Con for at least one day (July 9-11). Website: http://connecticon.org/
10. Go to Stitches East at least one day (October 20-23).
11. Go to the Connecticut Book Festival (May 21-22). Website: http://ctbookfestival.org/
12. Attend all events associated with the Newington Library’s Winter Reading thing… Website: http://www.newingtonct.gov/content/78/118/136/618/11393.aspx
13. Try three new recipes a week, including at least one vegetarian and one dessert.
14. See HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS within a week of it coming out (July 15)..
15. Attend the Creative Cocktail Hour at Real Art Ways at least twice. (Third Thursday of every month, 6-10, $10 admission.) Website: http://www.realartways.org/events.htm
16. Go to a comedy club.
17. Do something fun for my 30th birthday (August 10th).
18. Meet Jessica (bonus points if I get to meet the kids, Kenny and/or Mike).
19. Go to the drive-in at least twice this summer.
20. Get at least one tattoo.

Let's see...
Number 9 I sort of did, if you include Jim sneaking me in so I could vomit in their bathroom.
Number 10 I did.
Number 18 I did, and got bonus points for Kenny and the kids.

The only one there is still time for is number 16 and number 20, and there isn't really the money for either.

When budgeting for the next two months, I set aside some stuff to make stuff for the holiday wishes group, and then realized I hadn't been on LJ in months...ugh!

So, I thought I'd stop in, browse around, see what was new and exciting this year. Sorry to anyone who's missed me, but I moved in March and life took some unexpected turns. Too much going on to really pause and explain at this moment, but if you want to know what's up, stay tuned...soon enough, I promise.
